Joining the HelloMondo Local Dive program involves a straightforward process designed to highlight your community’s unique attributes to the world. Here’s how we collaborate to bring your local gems into the global spotlight:

• Step 1: Application submission

  • Tell Your Story: Send us an email that showcases what makes your community special. Highlight key attractions, cultural experiences, and anything that makes your locale unique. Please include photos, videos, or other materials that you believe will capture the essence of your community. Your email should provide a comprehensive view of what visitors can expect and why your town or island deserves to be featured.
  • Submission: Our team reviews submissions periodically to select the most compelling and unique entries.

• Step 2: Itinerary planning

  • Collaborative customization: Once selected, our team will work closely with you to develop a tailored visit itinerary. This includes identifying key cultural sites, arranging meetings with local stakeholders, and planning authentic culinary experiences.
  • Logistics coordination: We’ll help organize the details, ensuring a smooth and productive visit that covers all aspects of your community.

• Step 3: The HelloMondo visit

  • Explore and document: Our team will spend a minimum of three days immersing themselves in your community, capturing the essence of your locale through interviews, photography, and videography.
  • Engage with the community: Interaction with local residents, leaders, and entrepreneurs will be a central part of the visit to ensure a genuine representation of the local culture and lifestyle.

• Step 4: Sharing your story

  • Content creation: We will create rich, engaging content from the visit.
  • Global broadcasting: The final content will be featured on our platform and shared across our networks, giving your community worldwide exposure.

Program Requirements

Financial Responsibility:

• Participating communities are expected to cover the travel and accommodation expenses for two members of the HelloMondo team. The duration of the stay is flexible and will be determined based on the scope and diversity of attractions in your community. For smaller locales, a three-day visit might suffice, but for larger areas or countries with extensive offerings, a longer stay can be arranged if feasible.
• All travel should include standard Safetywing insurance coverage to ensure the health and safety of our team during their stay.
• It is important to note that beyond these specified costs, no additional fees or charges will be required from the host communities.

Logistical Support:

• Assist in setting up itineraries that effectively showcase the most compelling aspects of your community. This includes securing meetings and coordinating access to significant locales.
• Facilitate the visa application process if required for travel. Assistance from the host community in navigating local visa requirements and application procedures is crucial for smooth planning and execution of the visit.
• Propose optimal visit timings that reflect the true essence of your community, ideally during periods that best demonstrate local culture beyond peak tourist seasons or during significant local events or festivals.

Community Involvement:

• Actively engage local figures and stakeholders in the program. Their participation is essential to providing an authentic experience that truly represents the spirit of the community.
• Encourage local participation to facilitate rich storytelling and offer a comprehensive perspective on the cultural and social dynamics of the area.
