The SkyWheel Helsinki (originally named the Finnair SkyWheel) is a 131 feet (40 m) tall ferris wheel located at the Katajanokka harbour, in the centre of Helsinki. One of its 30 climate controlled gondolas has a sauna inside, being the world’s first sauna on a ferris wheel. From regular Ferris wheel tours to special VIP experiences, SkyWheel Helsinki has been attracting tourists and locals alike since 2014.
From the Helsinki observation wheel you can see some of the city’s most noted landmarks, such as the Uspenski Cathedral and UNESCO world heritage site, Suomenlinna.
There are 30 climate-controlled gondolas that seat six to eight people comfortably, and the experience lasts around ten minutes, but extended special tours can be pre-booked, such as the New Year’s Eve experience, where visitors can sip a glass of champagne watching the fireworks over Helsinki. One of its 30 climate controlled gondolas has a sauna inside, being the world’s first sauna on a ferris wheel.
